Changes to the UK Plastic Packaging Tax
The UK Plastic Packaging Tax (PPT) came into force on the 1st of April 2022.
It applies to UK manufacturers of plastic packaging, importers of plastic packaging, business customers of manufacturers and importers of plastic packaging, and consumers who buy plastic packaging or goods in plastic packaging in the UK.

UK Plastic Packaging Tax Updates
HMRC has now issued a notification to the packaging industry of an increase to the original £200 per tonne plastic packaging tax bill.
The taxation will now be set at £210.82 per tonne.
This means that any virgin plastic product ordered from the 1st of April 2023, will be subject to increased taxation.
