At Hub Packaging, we are committed to taking practical steps that support our long-term net-zero objectives and improve the way we operate. By focusing on measurable actions, operational improvements and partnerships that align with our goals, we continue to strengthen our business while delivering the quality and reliability our customers expect.
As part of this ongoing commitment, we are delighted to announce our partnership with 3T Power, with all Hub Packaging facilities now powered by 100% locally generated renewable electricity. This milestone represents another important step in our journey towards net-zero and supports our continued focus on reducing emissions, improving operational performance, and working with local organisations.
Taking another step towards net-zero
Reducing our emissions requires action across every area of our business. Switching to 100% renewable electricity is one of several initiatives supporting our long-term objectives, delivering a reduction in our Scope 2 emissions while maintaining the reliable energy supply required for our operations.
Julian Coldrick, Director of Sustainability at Hub Packaging, explains why 3T Power was the right partner for this stage of our journey:
“Two critical factors compelled Hub Packaging to choose 3T Power as our next energy partner. Firstly, that it was 100% renewable energy, and secondly, their commitment to providing renewable energy on a large scale within Northern Ireland. Making the switch to 3T Power reduced our Scope 2 emissions to zero, which is pretty cool.”
Selecting an energy provider that shares our focus on responsible operations enables us to continue making measurable progress towards our objectives while maintaining the operational resilience our customers depend on.
Supporting our customers through responsible operations
For Hub Packaging, operational performance and responsible business practices go hand in hand. Reliable energy is fundamental to maintaining efficient production, meeting customer demand, and delivering consistently high-quality packaging solutions.
Through our partnership with 3T Power, our facilities, including warehouse, offices, and EV charging infrastructure, are now powered entirely by renewable electricity. This change supports our objective of reducing our operational emissions while continuing to provide the reliability and performance our customers expect.
Julian adds:
“It’s incredibly important to maintain efficient production, and even better that the energy powering production is reliable.”
As organisations place increasing focus on responsible sourcing and supply chain expectations, initiatives such as these help us continue to meet the requirements of our customers and stakeholders.

A partnership built on shared values
A key reason this partnership has been a strong fit is the alignment between both organisations’ values.
Working with a local, independent renewable energy provider enables us to reduce emissions while supporting Northern Ireland’s energy sector and local economy. From the outset, the onboarding process has reflected a shared commitment to collaboration, accountability, and long-term progress.
Julian comments:
“It means a lot to work with a provider with shared values, and it’s very important to our customers and stakeholders. Our customer base expects the very best practice from us as their packaging provider of choice.”
At Hub Packaging, we recognise that progress towards net-zero requires collaboration with organisations that share our commitment to measurable action and continuous improvement.
Looking ahead
Our partnership with 3T Power represents another important milestone in Hub Packaging’s wider approach to reducing emissions and improving operational performance. By investing in renewable electricity, we are acting today to support our long-term net-zero objectives while ensuring our business continues to operate efficiently and responsibly.
Summarising the significance of the partnership, Julian says:
“Our partnership with 3T Power enables Hub Packaging to accelerate its net-zero journey through a reliable supply of 100% renewable electricity, while working with a like-minded local business that shares our commitment to sustainability.”
As we continue to invest in new technologies, operational improvements and responsible partnerships, our focus remains the same: delivering exceptional packaging solutions while making measurable progress for our customers, our people, and our local community.
We are proud to be taking another step forward on our journey to net-zero and look forward to continuing this work.
